For Devika Bista working different and difficult is preferable than going easy. She started her journalism from the remote western Nepal and travelled around sixty nine districts from Mechi to Mahakali. She took basic journalism training in kanchanpur district. She has keen interest in journalism, documentary filmmaking and social work. The ten years of her professional life has taught her that practice are the stairs to success and practice has shown her path forward till now.

She has long experience working with National televisions, print media and online news portals such as AP1 HD, Himal Media and Nepali times (weekly paper), Halkaro Pvt. Ltd. etc.Her documentary film "In Search for Devaki" was awarded at Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) as a best Nepali documentary film in 2017.

Briefly, Devaki Bista has a Masters Degree in Journalism and Communication from Purwanchal University, Kathmandu Nepal. She has obtained different training program on documentary film making, Television program producer and presenter, field reporting and photo journalism from national and international institutions.
